The Rex Maughan Forever Giving Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that launched in September 2009 as Forever Giving. In 2022, it was renamed the Rex Maughan Forever Giving Foundation to honor the legacy and lifelong charitable work of its namesake founder, Rex Maughan.

But the foundation’s commitment to changing the lives of women and children around the world — and helping communities affected by natural disasters — has always been a constant.

To date, the Rex Maughan Forever Giving Foundation has donated to more than 30 charitable organizations that help women, children and communities rebuild after devastation due to hunger, poverty, lack of medical care and natural disasters.

“It is never old-fashioned or out of style to be nice to each other, to honor your commitments, and to treat people how you would wish to be treated.”

Throughout his 84 years, Rex Maughan touched the lives of people around the world through his enterprising prowess, generous spirit and philanthropic commitment. Maughan planted many seeds during his lifetime. Some sprouted to form a global aloe vera health and wellness company, Forever Living, which distributes products in more than 160 countries, while others sprouted to directly serve those most in need.

For all he planted, Maughan never expected anything in return. His joy was found purely in the harvests of others. He was beloved for giving of his time, resources and wisdom. His faith drove his integrity, and he found the greatest joy in life through helping others.

While Maughan passed away in July 2021, his namesake foundation lives on, continuing his legacy of charitable work and giving back. This is a legacy that began early in Maughan’s life — at age 19, he embarked on a mission to the small island of Samoa that changed his life forever. He performed humanitarian work in cities and villages throughout the island for over two years, which opened his eyes to the world that existed beyond his own. It was then that he understood his true mission in life to help others would never end.

From this experience, he developed a deep love for Samoa and its people, making over a dozen return trips in his lifetime. There, he funded a school and built a library, which bears his name. He also financed a clean water project, restored a historic cemetery, and worked as part of a team that helped save 30,000 acres of low-lying rainforest on the island of Savai’i. For his impact on the people of Samoa, Maughan was bestowed the title of Tilafaiga, or High Chief. He was the first and only foreigner given this prestigious designation.

These seeds of kindness blossomed far beyond the island of Samoa, though. Throughout his life, Maughan financed a multitude of local, national and global initiatives centered around education, disaster relief, historic and nature preservation, foreign medical aid and world hunger. Indirectly, he motivated countless individuals and helped to restore people’s faith in humanity.

Maughan wholeheartedly believed his vision of helping others, spreading kindness and giving back would live on — and it does. Through Maughan’s leadership and generosity, the Rex Maughan Forever Giving Foundation continues to impact millions of lives and meaningful organizations around the world.
