Forever Giving Supports IMDS to Impact Families in Brazil

We are very excited to announce that Forever Giving has chosen to support Instituto de Marques Salamanca (IMDS), an organization that works with low-income families living in the Santa Teresa area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Forever Giving’s financial funding will help IMDS carry out its mission to make families stronger in Santa Teresa. IMDS’s integrated approach to child development focuses on strengthening the entire family unit by not only providing for children but their parents as well. In an area heavily populated with families made up of three to five children and mostly single mothers, IMDS provides childcare through their Creche Cantinho Feliz center or “Happy Home” for children ages 2 to 6 years old. This service is scarce in an area with only three childcare centers for 14,500 residents. In addition to receiving care, education and social development, the children are fed three meals a day to ensure that they do not go hungry. For many of these children, these are the only meals they’ll have all day.

To reach beyond the child and make an impact on the entire family unit, IMDS provides mothers with work opportunity by teaching them how to use their creative skills to generate an income. These lessons in entrepreneurship led to the formation of the brand Toque de Mao or “Touch of the Hand” which markets their handmade art.

We want to thank Forever Living Products Brazil and the distributors of Forever Living Products worldwide who have generously donated their time, money and products to support this project in Brazil. Thank you for helping us make a lasting difference for the families of Santa Teresa.
