Giving back locally: Event held to honor special needs kids

Special Day for Special Kids, hosted by the Scottsdale Rotary Club, was started 31 years ago in an effort to honor and provide a fun day for special needs children and their families in the Phoenix, Arizona area.  Families and children were able to enjoy food, carnival rides, games, prizes, and even a petting zoo for hours on end on March 19th, 2016.

Because this annual event is free for special needs kids and their families, the Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary Club reached out to local charity organizations and businesses for financial support. With a donation of $2,500 from Forever Giving, early 3,000 people experienced a day of joy, hope, and overall good times. We are lucky to have been a part of a charity that gives back to those who struggle with disabilities, and their family members who stand by them each and every day.
