Making a Difference One Step at a Time: Our Mission to Help End the Water Crisis
This year at Forever Giving, we've chosen to focus on something critical: bringing clean water to families around the world. Through supporting charity: water, we aim to impact thousands of lives through this initiative.
703 million people around the world lack access to basic clean water. That’s almost one in ten people worldwide. This staggering statistic fuels our passion and drives our commitment to make a tangible difference. Clean water is essential for health, education, and economic development, and we believe that everyone should have access to this basic necessity.
Our mission is to help provide a better life for women, children, and communities through access to facilities, meals, and education. Supporting charity: water aligns perfectly with this mission because lack of access to clean water disproportionately affects women and children, who often bear the responsibility of walking hours every day to collect water that may be unsafe to drink. Providing clean water to these communities means giving women their time back, allowing girls to stay in school, boosting the economy, reducing domestic violence, and decreasing the likelihood of water-borne diseases, particularly among children.
Throughout 2024, we will be raising funds and awareness through global efforts, including impactful “Water Walks.” These walks give a small window into the daily life of women and children who walk for hours every day carrying heavy water containers. At #FGR24, we partnered with Forever Living Products to bring this experience to qualifiers. The generous donations collected during the event will go towards funding our first water project with charity: water, a piped water system in India. We expect this project to impact nearly 300 people in a remote community.
Efforts have also been initiated in the UK, North America, Sweden, and other regions to raise funds through Water Walks. We are especially grateful to our Forever Business Owners (FBOs) who have led their own initiatives to make a difference. For instance, Augustin Zinsou Gbaguidi and his team, Reseau Vainqueur from Côte d'Ivoire, raised more than an incredible $3,000 to support the water project in India. Additionally, Rolf and Dominique Kipp from Germany have generously pledged all profits from The Farm, their biodynamic vineyard that produces 100% organic olive oil, to benefit the Rex Maughan Forever Giving Foundation. Rolf explained his dedication by saying, “My family and I see it as a great honor to support Rex's work and Rex's vision with our commitment to Forever Giving. We know that it is good. We want to think of Rex every day and pass on his values”. We are deeply moved by these acts of generosity and cannot express our gratitude enough for their contributions.
But we’re not stopping there. We know that to make a lasting impact, we need to continue our efforts and engage even more people in this mission. Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, and we look forward to your continued involvement as we take the next steps in our journey to help end the water crisis.
Together, we can help make clean water a reality for all.
